Spring Training in Florida (first four pics)
I went to the Cardinals/Astros game in Kissimmee, Florida on 3/9/2002. What a great time! It was a split squad game, but they had a good team up. Larussa came and brought Drew, Pujols, Polanco, K-Rob, and Marrero. (see box score for more details) Garret Stephenson threw great, and this Ortega kid hit a ton in spite of going 0 for 2. I also got an autograph from him.
Surprising how many Cards fans were there, considering they also had a game going on in Jupiter. I sat right behind the Cardinals dugout. After the 5th when the outfield was coming in I yelled to Kerry Robinson "Let's Go Hazelwood". I just could not resist. He is a Hazelwood East grad for those not in the know. He barely gave a nod. He did, however, in the next inning score the go- ahead run. Draw your own conclusions.
While I was busy with that, Polanco (who played a mean first base by the way) tossed a ball up our way and my friend Laurissa caught it, in fact snatched it before another woman did. She appeared to be Polanco's target, but she later got another ball so everybody wins in the end. Laurissa was nice enough to give me the ball, my first game ball!
Octavio Dotel notably threw some serious smoke in his only inning. Pujols looked fine running the bases coming off his ankle injury.
Overall, a fantastic time was had by all!

Baseball in Memphis in July
On Thursday July 25th I flew into St. Louis early in the morning. Carmen picked me up and we hit the road for Memphis to baseball, hear good music and eat tasty BBQ! (pics below)
Upon returning to St. Louis we hit the Cardinals-Cubs game on Saturday July 27th. This includes pictures of
Sam Sendejas at his very first baseball game ever! (pics a bit further down)
