above: Looking out over Mossman Gorge in the Daintree Rainforest. This looks much like a similar point in the river we swam in after getting these pictures.
above: More of Mossman Gorge.
above: A suspension bridge over the Gorge.
above: Close-up on the bridge.
above: Close-up on the engineer's seal for the bridge. I though it was interesting.
above: Ali at the Gorge.
above: More at the Gorge.
above: An interesting tree from an Aboriginal-led rain forest hike we took. This tree, unlike others on the hike, will NOT kill you if you touch it.
above: Samples of some paintings from the same walk. We also learned how to make the paint for these paintings...and how to wash it off with the foaming soap-leaf.
above: Looking out over the Great Barrier Reef after snorkeling.

above: Also, the Pacific looking out from a park in Port Douglas.
above: Ali, established in 1976.
above: Me monkeying around in a tree.
above: The most excellent pool at the apartments where we stayed. We pretty much had this to ourselves!
above: A second pool shot.
above: The Pacific from just outside the apartments where we were staying.
above: Some neat birds I got a decent shot of at a park by the beach.
above: The warning sign indicating that swimming will cause us great pain, especially to those wearing speedos, inflicted via boxfish jelly stingers. These stingers are so poisonous, that even if you touch a dead jellyfish - you might be too!
above: In this picture, at the end of the trip, I finally remember that my camera has a timer.
above: Looking out at 4 Mile Beach in Port Douglas from a hill.
above: 4 mile beach again - you can see the small netted area where it is safe for swimming. The net keeps the stingers out.
