Baseball 2005 Plans

UPDATED 7/4/2005!

As many of you know, it has become a tradition for me to travel back to St. Louis each year for some Cardinal baseball. In fact, this is (I think) the 6th year of the tradition. Specifically, the tradition of me buying tickets from group sales for friends and family to join me at the ballpark!

This year tickets were much tougher to come by. Group tickets were distributed on the basis of account seniority. Even with a 6 year old account, the best I was able to do was a SUNDAY game against the Cubbies. Specifically, for Sunday July 24. Game time is 7:05pm. ESPN has picked up this game for their Sunday night broadcast.

The seats are in the Bleachers (Section 591), which I think is a fitting location to bid Busch Stadium farewell, overlooking the Cubs bullpen (and taunting the Cubs relief core!).

I was able to get 32 tickets. As of now (7/4/2005) I do have a few left - so let me know if you want to come!

Also, I've sent emails to everyone that requested tickets to confirm. If you did not get an email from me letting you know that I am holding tickets for you, then I am probably not holding tickets for you! Let me know if you are reading this, and you think you should have some tickets, but did not get a message from me.

As per usual, when it gets closer to game date I will either mail your tickets to you, or otherwise make arrangements to meet up with you for the handoff.

Let me know if you have questions!

Mid-80's, Channel 5 broadcast (paraphrased in part):
Jay Randolph: "Cardinals Windbreaker day is coming up. Have you seen these yet, Jack?"

Jack Buck: "No, I haven't."

Jay: "Well, I have my own Cardinals Windbreaker already, and I must say it looks wonderful. Wearing this, I can break wind with the best of them."

(pause)

Jack (low key): "I'm sure you can, Jay..."
